This 21 day challenge I’m giving myself is to help with my depression and stress. Ironically I’m starting it on 4/20/18 but instead of my usual culprits of stressor releases (alcohol, medical marujauna, prescription drugs, sex, food, tv) I’m going to take one Maca pill twice daily with a teaspoon of organic Ashwagandha to start my morning, both are adaptogenic herbs. For those that don’t know what Ashwagandha Root or Maca Root is well here is a brief synopsis of the two herbs.
Maca root is known as the “peruvian ginseng” being that it is grown in the mountains of Peru. Some of the benefits are increased fertility in women, increased libido in men, and increased mental energy. Also as I mentioned before through my research it does help with depression and stress.
Now Ashwagandha has been used for more than 2,500 years and it’s roots are laid in India. It’s actually known as the “Indian ginseng” and has the ability to work as a stress protective agent. Some of the other benefits include combating anxiety, being a natural remedy for depression, and balancing blood sugar levels. It is said to also slow down the aging process.
